Egla Ceno reports violent threats following protest speech

Albanian artist and activist Egla Ceno has reported receiving violent threats following her public speech at a protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama. Ceno stated that she has submitted all relevant materials and the full content of the threats to the competent authorities for investigation.

The threatening messages, which Ceno shared on social media, include explicit promises of sexual violence in the center of Tirana. The sender, using the initials ‘A. S.’ and claiming to be a ‘special commander of the Alfa Forces’ trained by Albanian secret services, threatened that no judicial or state institution would be able to protect her if she continued her activism.

Ceno declared that she is not intimidated by these threats and intends to continue her presence in the square to demand respect for citizens' rights and the Constitution. She emphasized her commitment to the protest until the demands of the people are taken seriously by authorities in Poličan and other municipalities.
