Egnatia and Celje finish 3‑3 in Champions League qualifying first leg

In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second‑qualifying round, Albanian club KF Egnatia hosted Slovenian side NK Celje at the Arena Egnatia in Rrogozhinë. The match ended in a 3‑3 draw.

Nigerian striker Papa Daniel opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Croatian midfielder Mario Kvesić equalised before halftime, and after the break Lithuanian forward Armandas Kučys gave Celje the lead. Brazilian midfielder Fernando Medeiros restored parity for Egnatia, followed by a second goal from Kvesić on a free‑kick. Ibrahim Diabate then scored to finish the match level. The second‑leg tie will be played on 28 July at Celje’s Stadion Z’déžele in Slovenia.

Both clubs will look to build on the six‑goal thriller as they aim to progress to the next qualifying round.
