Egypt accepts Lebanese school credentials for university enrollment
The Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education has intervened to resolve issues regarding the acceptance of Lebanese school credentials by several Egyptian universities. The problem arose because exceptional circumstances in Lebanon led to the cancellation of official exams, resulting in the issuance of alternative school statements instead of formal certificates.
Following coordination between the Lebanese Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities, Egyptian authorities expressed understanding of the situation. As a result, Egyptian universities have agreed to accept the legal statements issued to students, ensuring that Lebanese students can complete their registration and avoid losing an academic year after having already incurred significant relocation and housing expenses.
The Ministry confirmed it will continue to monitor the file to protect the rights of Lebanese students and ensure their educational paths are not disrupted by the exceptional circumstances faced during the academic year.
