Egypt advances digital subsidy card and Carry On retail project
Egyptian officials are advancing several initiatives aimed at improving food security and service efficiency through digital integration and new retail models.
Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi met to discuss developing the unified government service card. This system aims to integrate databases and technological infrastructure to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of subsidy services, potentially adding more support services in future implementation phases.
Additionally, a meeting was held in New Alamein between the Ministers of Supply and Agriculture, alongside the Executive Director of the Egypt Future Agency for Sustainable Development, to discuss the execution of the ‘Carry On’ national project. The project focuses on establishing a modern retail model to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce circulation loops, and ensure the availability of essential goods at competitive prices for citizens.
