Egypt Agriculture Minister meets Beheira farmers to discuss service development

Alaa Farouk, the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, met with farmer representatives in the Beheira Governorate to discuss agricultural service development and challenges facing local producers.

Key topics of discussion included fertilizer quotas and distribution procedures, the provision of intensive veterinary care, and support for small-scale livestock breeders. The meeting also addressed the need to clear irrigation canals and drains to ensure water reaches the ends of agricultural lands.

The Minister emphasized the importance of transitioning to modern irrigation systems and utilizing solar energy to reduce costs. Additionally, discussions focused on tightening market oversight regarding seeds and pesticides to prevent fraud, as well as expanding agricultural extension programs to promote modern practices for strategic crops.
