Egypt and Azerbaijan deepen development partnership

Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Ahmed Rustom met with Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Cairo, Elkhan Toluhov, to discuss expanding joint investments and cooperation in sustainable development. The talks, backed by Presidents Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi and Ilham Aliyev, highlighted the success of previous joint commission sessions, the launch of direct flights between Cairo and Baku, and plans to share expertise in smart‑city projects and green infrastructure. Both sides expressed intent to formalise a new phase of economic collaboration and to coordinate upcoming events such as the Islamic Development Bank’s annual meeting in Baku and the next OIC summit.
