Egypt investment minister targets export growth and industrial expansion

Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, is spearheading several initiatives to boost national exports and attract investment. During the third stage of the ‘Egypt Launches with Export’ initiative in Damietta, Farid reported that the governorate’s non-oil exports reached approximately $4.1 billion in 2025, a 13.6% increase from the previous year. This figure accounts for roughly 8.1% to 9% of Egypt’s total non-oil exports.

To support this growth, the Ministry is focusing on professionalizing the export sector. This includes the swearing-in of 15 new members of the Commercial Representation Agency, who are tasked with proactive market targeting and protecting Egyptian economic interests abroad. Additionally, Damietta University has signed a cooperation protocol with the Ministry’s Foreign Trade Training Center to enhance the skills of students and graduates in international trade and entrepreneurship.

On the industrial front, the Minister inspected a pre-stressed concrete factory in 10th of Ramadan City to emphasize the importance of maximizing existing production capacities. The government is also exploring new financing tools, including a new industrial fund in collaboration with the Sovereign Fund, to support high-efficiency companies looking to expand their production lines and global competitiveness.
