Egypt and China sign agricultural research cooperation protocol
Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Agricultural Research Center and China Agricultural University. The agreement aims to strengthen scientific, technical, and institutional cooperation between the two nations.
The partnership focuses on enhancing joint research, exchanging expertise, and implementing capacity-building programs to address challenges related to food security, climate change, and sustainable development. Key areas of collaboration include the localization of pesticide manufacturing, aquaculture technology transfer, vegetable seed production, and the development of crops that are more resistant to drought and salinity.
Additionally, the protocol covers research into social economy, nutrition, and food security, while facilitating academic exchange and training programs for young researchers and experts.
