Egypt and Libya sign protocol for annual industrial integration exhibition
The Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) has signed a cooperation protocol with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Benghazi to launch an annual Egyptian-Libyan Industrial Integration Exhibition. The first edition of the event is tentatively scheduled to take place in Benghazi in April 2027.
The initiative aims to transition economic relations between Egypt and Libya from traditional trade to a model of industrial integration, joint investments, and technology transfer. The exhibition is intended to serve as a sustainable platform for business partnerships, with success measured by actual contracts and joint ventures rather than mere attendance.
Targeted sectors for cooperation include building materials, food, chemicals, engineering, plastics, wood and furniture, textiles, and leather goods. Additionally, the program seeks to leverage Libya’s geographic position to provide Egyptian companies with access to broader African markets, including Chad, Niger, Sudan, and Mali.
