Egypt and Slovenia seek to expand civil aviation cooperation
Egypt and Slovenia are working to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation sector to boost tourism and economic growth. Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny met with the Slovenian Ambassador to Cairo, Sašo Podlesnik, to discuss enhancing air connectivity.
Discussions focused on finalizing a bilateral air transport agreement, which involves completing technical negotiations and aligning on outstanding issues. Once concluded, the agreement would provide a framework for airlines to introduce scheduled services and expand operational opportunities.
Both nations are also exploring the possibility of converting existing charter flights between Ljubljana and Hurghada into scheduled services to meet rising tourism demand. Additionally, the parties discussed potential cooperation in air cargo to support trade and improve transport links.
