The match, held at the Al Wakrah Club's Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium in Doha, Qatar, marks Egypt's third consecutive win in the group stage, bringing their total to nine points.

Egypt opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through a penalty by Omar Abdel Salam, followed by a goal from Adam Mohammed Al-Qazz in the 43rd minute. In the second half, Khaled Mukhtar (72nd minute) and Amr Abdel Rahim (78th minute) extended the lead. Yemen managed a consolation goal via Mohammed Shafi in the 81st minute, but a late strike by Khaled Mahmoud in stoppage time finalized the score.
