Egypt announces 15,000 rental housing units for low-income citizens

The Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund has announced the launch of 15,000 rental housing units as part of the ‘Housing for All Egyptians 9’ initiative. The units are distributed across various new cities, governorates, and through the ‘Decent Life’ initiative.

Applications for citizens with disabilities will open from September 6, 2026, to September 27, 2026. General applications for all citizens will follow from September 28, 2026, to October 28, 2026. Unit sizes range from 75 to 100 square meters. Some locations, such as Hadayek Al Assema and New Obour, offer 75-square-meter units, while others in cities like New October and New Alamein offer 90-square-meter units.

The program includes rental support of up to 100,000 EGP, depending on the beneficiary's income and unit size. Applicants must meet specific requirements, including a maximum monthly family income of 16,000 EGP. Required documentation includes national ID copies, proof of income, utility receipts, and marriage or birth certificates.
