Egypt announces 2026-2027 academic calendar and exam schedules

Egypt's Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced the schedule for the first monthly exams of the 2026/2027 academic year for transfer students in primary, preparatory, and secondary stages. These exams are scheduled to take place from October 18 to October 22, 2026, focusing on learning outcomes achieved during the first month.

A new assessment system will be implemented for first and second-grade primary students. Under the direction of Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif, the total score of 100 will be distributed among end-of-term exams (60 points), homework (5), classwork (5), weekly assessments (10), monthly tests (15), and attendance/behavior (5).

Separately, the Supreme Council of Universities has released the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 year. The first semester is set to begin on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and will run for 15 weeks, concluding on December 31, 2026. Mid-term exams are scheduled for the first three weeks of November, with final exams running from January 2 to January 21, 2027.
