Egypt announces 2026/2027 private and national university admission requirements

The joint council of private and national universities in Egypt has announced the minimum admission requirements for the 2026/2027 academic year. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held at Alamein International University.

The requirements vary based on the student's educational background (General Secondary Certificate, Al-Azhar, STEM, Nile Schools, or international/Arab certificates) and the specific institution. For human medicine, requirements for international certificate holders range from 85% at King Salman International University to 90% at other national universities. For domestic certificate holders, the minimum for medicine starts at 80% at King Salman and New Valley National Universities, reaching 85% at other national universities.

Other key minimum thresholds for international certificate holders include: - Dentistry: 75% to 82% - Physical Therapy: 71% to 78% - Pharmacy: 66% to 73% - Engineering: 63% to 70% - Computer Science: 60% to 65%

Requirements for domestic students follow a similar tiered structure across various disciplines including biotechnology, health sciences, and nursing.
