Yemen Zakat Authority launches 14 billion riyal projects for 300,000 beneficiaries
The General Authority for Zakat in Yemen has launched its third-quarter projects to mark the occasion of the Prophet's Birthday. These initiatives aim to support more than 300,000 beneficiaries, including the poor and needy, with a total cost exceeding 14 billion riyals.
Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Miftah emphasized the importance of these mercy and benevolence projects, noting that the organized distribution of Zakat through documentation and case studies ensures funds reach those most in need. He described the projects as evidence of Yemen's recovery despite ongoing hardships and blockades.
Additionally, Yemen's Grand Mufti, Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, praised the authority's efforts and urged those obligated to pay Zakat to fulfill their religious duties to support these large-scale social spending efforts.
