Egypt begins 2026 secondary school examinations

Egypt started the first day of the 2026 secondary school examinations on Tuesday, June 23. More than 874,500 students in the new system sat the foreign language II test, which is scored out of 25 points with a passing mark of 12.5 (50%). In addition, 676 students in the old system took the economics and statistics exams, and 284 students from schools for the blind took the national education test.

The Ministry of Education monitored the process from a central operations room and coordinated with provincial education directors and the Ministry of Interior to secure examination venues across all governorates. Strict guidelines were issued for answer sheets, including using only blue ballpoint pens and fully shading the answer bubbles. Exams will continue through July 16, with Arabic scheduled for June 28 and chemistry and geography on July 2.
