Egypt begins 2026 Thanaweya Amma second session exams

The second session of the 2026 Thanaweya Amma (high school) examinations has commenced in Egypt. A total of 211,908 students are participating in the modern system, including 125,720 in the science branch, 25,901 in the mathematics branch, 56,431 in the arts branch, and 3,856 in the international system. Additionally, 1,027 students are taking exams under the old system.

Despite the Prophet's Birthday holiday, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education confirmed that examinations will proceed according to the scheduled timetable. This follows a decision by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stating that while the holiday applies to government employees, ongoing examinations must continue as planned.

For the modern system, exams are scheduled to conclude on August 27, 2026, while students under the old system will continue testing until August 31, 2026.
