Egypt begins 2026 high school second-round exams

The second-round examinations for the 2025/2026 high school certificate (Thanaweya Amma) commenced on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Egypt. The exams are being monitored by the central operations room of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to ensure a secure and organized environment.

A total of 211,908 students under the modern system are participating, including 125,720 in the science stream, 25,901 in mathematics, 56,431 in the literary stream, and 3,856 in the international system. Additionally, 1,027 students from the old system are taking their exams.

Modern system exams are scheduled to run until Thursday, August 27, while exams for students in the old system and visually impaired students will continue until Monday, August 31. In the Aswan region, local authorities have prepared specific exam committees and accommodations for teachers to facilitate the process.
