Egypt commemorates 53rd anniversary of October War victories

Egypt is observing the 53rd anniversary of the October War victories. The Egyptian Armed Forces, through General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, issued formal congratulations to President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The military leadership emphasized the historical significance of the 1973 conflict, describing it as a turning point that restored national dignity and sovereignty. Military officials reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Egypt's territory and supporting the nation's development and stability.

In related commemorations, Alaa Mubarak, son of the late former President Hosni Mubarak, honored the fallen soldiers and recalled his father's role as the commander of the Egyptian Air Force during the war. The anniversary serves as a period of national reflection on the military achievements and the sacrifices made during the crossing of the Suez Canal and the liberation of the Sinai Peninsula.
