Egypt continues secondary school exams in Giza and Qalyubia

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, students in Egypt's Giza governorate took the algebra and statistics paper of the secondary school (preparatory certificate) examinations, alongside religious education. The exam marathon, which began with Arabic and handwriting tests, will run through June 10 and includes subjects such as engineering, sciences, foreign languages, IT, social studies and physical education, determining students' placement in various secondary tracks.

In the neighboring Qalyubia governorate, the same day saw candidates sit for Arabic, handwriting and spelling exams, while sports‑focused students took a physical‑education test. About 120,000 examinees are spread across 440 exam rooms. The local education directorate has imposed strict security measures – sealed question papers, a ban on mobile phones, medical support on site, and real‑time monitoring rooms – to ensure a fair and orderly testing environment.
