Egypt denies links to TIHAMA ship targeted in Bab al-Mandab

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport has issued a clarification regarding the cargo ship TIHAMA, which was targeted by Houthi forces off the coast of Yemen in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The Ministry denied reports suggesting the vessel is linked to an Egyptian-based operating company.

According to official statements, the TIHAMA flies the Tanzanian flag and is owned by a Yemeni national. Its operations are managed by Blue Sea for Management Marine through a branch located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Ministry emphasized that the vessel is not registered with Egyptian navigation chambers, holds no Egyptian maritime agency licenses, and has no connection to Egyptian ports, cargo, or citizens.
