Egypt education ministries announce academic updates and recruitment

The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education have announced several administrative updates for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The Ministry of Higher Education has opened the third round of the ‘reduction of alienation’ process for Thanaweya Amma, STEM, and Nile Schools students seeking transfers to government universities and institutes. Additionally, the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif sector has begun accepting appeals regarding Thanaweya Azhariya results, with a fee of 100 EGP per subject.

Regarding technical and preparatory education, the Ministry of Education is seeking applicants for academic director positions within Applied Technology Schools. Candidates must be current ministry employees under the age of 50 with appropriate higher education qualifications.

Furthermore, education directorates have opened applications for heads of various examination committees for the 2027 Preparatory Certificate exams. Requirements include a high degree, previous exam experience, and no criminal or disciplinary record. The Ministry also officially denied social media rumors claiming that preparatory certificate exams would be unified nationwide like the Thanaweya Amma.
