Egypt educational authorities advance technical school development

Educational officials in Egypt's Assiut and Minya governorates are implementing initiatives to enhance technical education and better align vocational training with labor market demands.

In Assiut, Mohamed Ibrahim Desouky, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, led a meeting with industrial school directors to discuss activating production units and developmental initiatives. The strategy focuses on expanding production units, recycling surplus materials, and utilizing wood waste to increase school resources. The initiative aims to maximize the use of modern equipment provided by the ministry to train students in various crafts and prepare them for direct employment upon graduation.

In Minya, the Directorate of Education conducted interviews to select new directors and deputies for technical education schools. Led by Saber Abdel Hamid Zayan, the selection process involves a committee of academic and executive leaders. The interviews evaluate candidates' professional experience, leadership abilities, and capacity to integrate theoretical study with practical applications to ensure graduates possess the skills required by the modern workforce.
