Egypt expands Carry On retail chain with 20 new branches
The Egyptian government has inaugurated 20 new branches of the ‘Carry On’ retail chain across the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, and Alexandria. This expansion brings the total number of operational branches in the series to 24.
The ‘Carry On’ model serves as an integrated retail solution, combining supermarkets with specialized outlets for meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, bakery products, and Qaha company products. It also includes points for distributing subsidized food rations.
In collaboration with the World Food Programme and the National Nutrition Institute, the branches feature dedicated sections for healthy food awareness. These sections promote products aligned with the recommended balanced food basket for Egyptian citizens.
Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Sherif Farouk, stated that the project is a national initiative aimed at modernizing the internal trade system and improving the availability and distribution efficiency of essential goods.
