Egypt expands maritime infrastructure and tourism partnerships

Egypt is advancing its maritime and logistics capabilities through new international partnerships and infrastructure developments. The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has expanded its agreement with the Yacht Club de Monaco to attract international yacht owners to marinas in Ismailia and Alamein. This partnership aims to capture a larger share of the Mediterranean yacht tourism market and increase foreign-currency revenue through marketing, operational sustainability, and marine environmental protection.

In the logistics sector, Egypt’s Ministry of Transport signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Xiamen C&D to develop a specialized dry bulk terminal at Al Max Port in Alexandria. This project is the first of four planned terminals intended to strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for transport and transit trade. The development includes upgrading marine berths, expanding storage yards, and modernizing cargo-handling facilities to better integrate Egyptian ports into global supply chains.
