Egypt extends building violation reconciliation deadline to November 2026
The Egyptian government has extended the deadline for submitting reconciliation requests regarding building violations. Following a decision by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, a six-month extension was granted to allow property owners to regularize the status of non-compliant buildings.
The new grace period began on May 5, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on November 5, 2026, unless further extensions are issued. This period applies to both new applicants and those who have already submitted files but need to complete documentation or additional procedures.
Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Environment, has instructed local governorates to facilitate the process and increase completion rates. She emphasized that executive leaders should be present in technological centers to assist citizens and resolve any obstacles. Technical committees are also tasked with accelerating the examination and decision-making process for pending applications to ensure the state's rights are protected while providing legal status to property owners.
