Egypt food commodity prices show mixed market trends
Food commodity markets in Egypt are experiencing fluctuating price trends for essential goods. Recent data shows a mix of price decreases and increases across various categories.
Several staple items have seen price reductions, including packaged pasta, tea, lentils, sugar, flour, fava beans, and rice. For instance, the average price of 400g packaged pasta dropped by approximately 5.36 EGP to 22.85 EGP, while tea saw a decrease of about 4.57 EGP per kilogram.
Conversely, some products have faced price hikes. Corn oil saw an increase of roughly 0.88 EGP per liter, reaching 120.74 EGP. Egg prices have also shown upward movement, with the average price for a carton of white eggs rising by 1.49 EGP to approximately 108.42 EGP.
