Egyptian pound steadies at about 49.5 per US dollar

On Saturday 27 June 2026 and Sunday 28 June 2026 the US dollar traded at roughly 49.5 Egyptian pounds across the country’s major banks. The Central Bank quoted a sell rate of 49.60 EGP and a buy rate of 49.46 EGP. Commercial banks showed minor variations: Banque du Caire, the National Bank of Egypt and the Commercial International Bank listed sell rates between 49.55 EGP and 49.57 EGP, with buy rates ranging from 49.45 EGP to 49.47 EGP. A few banks, such as Bank of Kuwait and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, reported slightly higher sell prices near 49.75 EGP.

Overall, the currency market displayed limited volatility, with the dollar price holding within a narrow band of a few tenths of a pound throughout the two‑day period.
