Egyptian market prices slip on gold, dollar, poultry and eggs

On 23 July 2026, several Egyptian commodity prices showed modest declines. Gold prices in the local market stabilized, with the 24‑carat ounce quoted around 4 121 USD and the 21‑carat gram near 6 301 EGP.

Egyptian banks listed the US dollar near 50.5 EGP for buying and 50.6 EGP for selling, while the Saudi riyal traded around 13.4 EGP across the same institutions.

The poultry exchange reported a drop in live‑chicken prices: white chicken fell to 59 EGP per kilogram at the market and 76 EGP per kilogram for consumers, down roughly 2 EGP; local (farm‑raised) chicken stayed around 80‑81 EGP at the exchange and 117 EGP for buyers, a slight 1 EGP decrease.

Egg‑carton rates also edged lower. A carton of 30 white eggs was priced between 88.0 EGP and 88.5 EGP on the exchange, red‑egg cartons between 90 EGP and 91 EGP, and local‑breed cartons between 129 EGP and 130 EGP.
