Egypt junior women's handball team reaches World Championship quarter‑finals

The Egyptian Handball Federation’s long‑term scientific development project screened more than 110 players, created a strong domestic league and built a U‑18 women’s squad that won the African championship in Algeria, securing qualification for the 2026 World Championship in Romania.

In Romania the team topped Group A with a win over South Korea and a draw with Denmark, then advanced to the quarter‑finals – the first time Egypt’s junior women’s side has reached that stage. Coach Abdel Karim and federation board member Amr Fathy said the achievement “was not accidental but the result of a long‑term scientific plan,” and highlighted it as a step toward a future senior women’s national team.
