Egypt launches 2026 ‘Housing for All’ scheme with 19,000 new homes

The Egyptian Ministry of Housing announced the 2026 “Housing for All” programme, offering around 19,000 subsidised residential units across eight new city developments – Gardens of October, 10th of Ramadan, New October, New Sohag, Al‑Sadat, New Al‑Obour, New Assiut and Capital Gardens. The project covers ~383 feddans and aims to deliver fully finished apartments within 36 months, with construction of the units set for four years and related services for five years. The agency overseeing the scheme commits to connect basic utilities within one year and requires developers to install internal infrastructure and link to main networks.

Eligibility is limited to low‑ and middle‑income families who have not previously received subsidised housing and do not own a home. Applicants must submit identity documents, income proof, tax or commercial registration (for self‑employed), social‑security statements and, where applicable, disability certificates. Proposals are submitted in technical and financial envelopes to the Authority of New Urban Communities, after which a public lottery determines allocation. Financing is provided with the lowest possible interest rates and the longest repayment periods to make home ownership affordable.
