Egypt launches seventh phase of ‘Confrontation and Touring’ cultural project
The seventh phase of the ‘Confrontation and Touring’ project has launched across various Egyptian governorates, including Qena, Aswan, Sinai, and the Delta. Organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the initiative aims to enhance cultural and intellectual awareness among youth.
In Qena and Aswan, the project involved students from local universities and reached over 15,000 citizens. The program featured field tours addressing social issues such as drug abuse and tribal feuds, alongside folk art performances and free book distributions. Specialized workshops in dramatic writing, acting, and lighting were also held, with several talented students selected for intensive training at the Leadership Preparation Institute.
The expansion into the Delta and Sinai regions coincides with the 53rd anniversary of the October War. These activities include theatrical performances, such as ‘Al-Simsimiya’, which documents popular resistance, and interactive workshops in schools and care homes to discover new talents. The initiative aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 to promote cultural justice and human development through art and education.
