Egypt launches seventh phase of Confrontation and Touring Theater project
The seventh phase of the ‘Confrontation and Touring Theater’ project has launched in Egypt, targeting students from Qena and Aswan universities, as well as residents in the Red Sea governorate. Running from September 12 to October 4, 2026, the initiative is overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the ‘Decent Life’ presidential initiative.
The program includes specialized technical workshops and training in acting, directing, set design, and playwriting. It aims to discover and nurture young talent while providing direct interaction with professional theatrical fields. Beyond training, the project features folk art performances, theatrical shows, and exhibitions of traditional handicrafts to support creative industries.
In Qena, activities began at the Qena Culture Palace, with subsequent events scheduled for Aswan. The project seeks to expand cultural reach beyond traditional theaters, bringing artistic activities to villages and remote areas to promote cultural awareness and social justice.
