Egypt lists four state firms, including three oil companies, on its stock exchange
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Hussein Issa attended a ceremony at the Egyptian Stock Exchange in the Smart Village to mark the temporary listing of four government-owned companies. The three oil‑sector firms – Enppi, the Egyptian Linear Alkylbenzene Production Company (Ilab), and Marine Services Company – joined the tourism‑development firm Al‑Mamoura in the new listings.
The move is part of Egypt’s government‑IPO programme, which aims to list up to ten oil companies and a total of thirty state assets. officials cited that twenty companies have already completed temporary listings, with the goal of improving corporate governance, increasing market depth, attracting domestic and foreign investors, and expanding private‑sector participation in the economy. Ministers Karim Badawi (Petroleum and Mineral Resources) and other senior officials highlighted the expected benefits for efficiency, transparency and capital market growth.
