Egypt Mining Forum 2026 to host record global participation

The fifth edition of the Egypt Mining Forum is scheduled to take place in Cairo on September 28-29, 2026. This edition marks a record participation level, with over 6,000 attendees from approximately 50 countries, including ministers, global mining companies, and technology leaders.

Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the forum aims to support Egypt's goal of increasing the mining sector's contribution to the national GDP from less than 1% to approximately 5–6% by 2030. The event serves as a platform for dialogue between governments and the private sector regarding licensing, financing, and technological integration.

To attract investment, Egypt has implemented several reforms, including the Model Mining Exploitation Agreement, reduced exploration lease fees, and VAT and customs exemptions on equipment. The country is also leveraging its significant mineral reserves, which include 3.1 billion tons of phosphate and 660 million tons of iron oxide deposits.

Industry leader AVEVA will participate in the forum to showcase real-time AI solutions designed to support the mining value chain. The company aims to provide integrated digital ecosystems that connect exploration, mine planning, engineering, and logistics to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in Egypt and North Africa.
