Egypt Ministry of Education announces paper registration for school enrollment

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced that students who failed to register electronically for kindergarten and first grade for the 2026/2027 academic year may apply via paper registration. This process will begin on September 1, 2026, through local educational directorates.

Coordination procedures for official and language schools must be completed by August 31, 2026. Admission requirements include a minimum age of 4 for kindergarten and between 6 and 9 years for first grade. Required documentation includes computerized birth certificates, parental identification, and specific postal and educational stamps.

Additionally, the Ministry clarified the start of the new academic year. International schools are scheduled to begin on September 6, 2026, while government, language, and private schools will start on September 12, 2026. The Ministry also denied rumors regarding changes to student attendance systems or extended school days.
