Egypt Ministry of Education denies 2026 school year postponement

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education has dismissed social media rumors regarding the postponement of the 2026-2027 academic year. Officials confirmed that the official academic calendar remains unchanged.

According to the ministry, international schools will begin classes on September 6, 2026, while public, private, and official language schools are scheduled to start on September 12, 2026. To manage the start of the term, the ministry plans to implement a gradual entry system during the first week to reduce overcrowding and help students, particularly newcomers, adapt to the school environment.

Preparations are currently underway across educational directorates, including school maintenance, textbook distribution, and ensuring safety standards and laboratory readiness. The academic year is scheduled to conclude on June 24, 2027.
