Egypt Ministry of Education increases oversight of international schools

Egypt's Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced intensified field and technical monitoring of international schools to ensure compliance with educational regulations for the new school year.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif emphasized that schools must adhere to legal tuition fees and approved student density limits. He also mandated that international schools teach national identity subjects, including Arabic language, religious education, and social studies. Furthermore, the ministry prohibited homeschooling and required that all school events and celebrations align with Egyptian culture and values.

To ensure transparency, schools are required to publish approved tuition fees on their websites before August 2026. The ministry stated it will take legal action against any violations regarding fees or educational standards detected during the upcoming academic period.
