Egypt Ministry of Higher Education opens university transfer registration

The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has opened the registration period for the 2026 'reduction of alienation' phase. This process allows students to apply for transfers between universities and institutes to minimize geographic displacement.

The registration is available to third-stage students, as well as students from the first and second stages who have not previously utilized this service. Additionally, the electronic coordination website will reopen for students who exhausted their preferences or missed previous registration windows, allowing them to register or re-register.

Transfers are subject to specific regulations set by the Supreme Council of Universities, including a maximum acceptance rate of 10% per institution. Selection is based on the student's high school total score, geographic distribution rules, and the capacity of the target college or institute. Students are permitted to apply for a transfer only once.
