Egypt Ministry of Higher Education extends university registration deadline

The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has extended the deadline for the second phase of university and institute coordination registration. Students now have until 7:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2026, to complete their electronic applications, a one-day extension from the original Sunday deadline.

Approximately 266,931 students are eligible for this phase. For the modern system, the minimum score is 220 marks (68.75%) for scientific tracks and 205 marks (64.06%) for literary tracks. The ministry noted that available vacancies for literary students include fields such as tourism, languages, law, arts, and administrative sciences.

In conjunction with the registration process, the Ministry has issued warnings to protect students from fraudulent educational entities. Officials are conducting continuous electronic monitoring and judicial enforcement to combat unlicensed institutions that promote unaccredited certificates. Students are urged to verify the legal status of any institution through the Ministry’s official lists and avoid any entities making claims of “guaranteed admission” or “internationally accredited certificates” without official verification.
