Egypt Ministry of Labor urges citizens in Lebanon to regularize residency

The Egyptian Ministry of Labor has called upon Egyptian citizens working in Lebanon to take advantage of extended deadlines to regularize their residency and work status. This initiative follows directives from Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad to protect and support Egyptian workers abroad.

According to the Ministry, the Lebanese Ministry of Labor issued Decision No. 107/1 on October 17, 2026, extending the period for regularizing the status of those violating foreign labor regulations until December 31, 2026. Additionally, Lebanese General Security has issued a circular allowing Arab and foreign workers to settle residency and work violations until January 29, 2027.

These measures aim to provide a grace period for foreign workers to correct their legal status before authorities tighten the enforcement of laws regarding illegal residency. The regularization process may include transferring sponsorship, changing status, or adjusting categories through the competent departments of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor.
