Egypt Ministry of Social Solidarity expands child welfare and training programs

The Egyptian Ministry of Social Solidarity is expanding its social welfare and developmental initiatives for children and families. Through the ‘Mawadda’ national program, in collaboration with UNICEF and the General Administration for Child Affairs, specialized training sessions have been conducted for 605 nursery facilitators across several governorates, including Giza, Alexandria, Qena, and Aswan.

These training camps aim to enhance the quality of early childhood care by teaching positive parenting methods, child development stages, nutrition, and child protection policies. The initiative has already reached over 31,000 children indirectly through these capacity-building efforts.

Additionally, the Ministry is hosting the ‘I Am Talented’ summer camp in Port Said. This program brings together children and families from Cairo and Marsa Matrouh to participate in various workshops, including arts, music, and drama. The camp also provides economic empowerment training for mothers, focusing on handicrafts and financial inclusion through microfinance services.
