Egypt Ministry of Transport investigates railway equipment theft

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport is investigating a viral video showing individuals seizing railway equipment and loading it onto a cart to flee. The incident reportedly took place in the Abu Kabir district of the Sharqia Governorate.

The Ministry is coordinating with transport police and security agencies to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Technical inspections are being conducted on the stolen items to determine if the theft compromises the safety and regularity of train operations.

Officials emphasized that such criminal acts threaten not only public property but also the lives of thousands of passengers and workers. The Ministry stated it will take decisive legal action against any interference with railway assets.
