Egypt National ID issuance: fees and expedited service options

The Egyptian Civil Status Department offers several tiers of service for the issuance and renewal of National ID cards, varying by speed and cost.

For immediate needs, an 'instant' category is available for 800 EGP via mobile units. A 'VIP Express' option costs 515 EGP and allows for collection within one hour. Other tiers include a 'Special' category for 175 EGP (24-hour delivery), an 'Urgent' category for 125 EGP (3-day delivery), and a 'Standard' category for 50 EGP (15-day delivery).

Expedited services can be accessed through VIP centers located in major shopping malls—such as City Stars, Carrefour Maadi, and Maxim Mall—as well as the Civil Status headquarters in Abbassia and through mobile units. In cases of lost or broken cards, citizens must first file a report at a police station before requesting a replacement at a Civil Registry office. The Ministry of Interior also provides electronic renewal options through its official portal.
