Egypt national team selects Mostafa Shobeir as starting goalkeeper

Egypt national team head coach Hossam Hassan has selected Mostafa Shobeir as the starting goalkeeper for the upcoming match against Angola. The decision, made in coordination with goalkeeper coach Saafan El-Saghir, aims to provide Shobeir with psychological stability ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Shobeir was chosen despite competition from Mahdi Suleiman, Abdelaziz El-Balouti, and Mohamed Alaa.

In injury news, team manager Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that Hamdi Fathi will miss the current national team camp due to an injury sustained while playing for Al Wakrah in Qatar. Fathi will be unavailable for the matches against Angola and South Sudan, as well as a friendly against South Africa. He joins Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Yasser Ibrahim on the injury list.

Tickets for the Egypt vs. Angola match, scheduled for September 25 at Cairo International Stadium, have been released by Tazkarti. Prices are set at 20 EGP for third class, 50 EGP for second class, 150 EGP for first class, and 300 EGP for the VIP lounge.
