Egypt opens registration for 2026 university capacity tests

The Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education announced that registration for the 2026 university capacity tests opened on Friday, 24 July 2026. For Al‑Azhar University, the window runs until 31 July, allowing candidates to apply for 12 boys' colleges and 11 girls' colleges. The tests will be held from 1 August to 13 August and cover faculties such as Education, Quranic Studies, Sports Sciences, Humanitarian Studies, Languages, and Translation.

Separate registration for capacity tests required by the College of Music Education and other specialised faculties – including Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Sports Sciences and Technical Colleges – remains open until 6 August 2026. Applicants register individually for each college via the electronic coordination portal and pay separate fees. The music education test includes a practical interview assessing vocal ability, musicality and rhythm, with a passing mark of 60 % of the total score.
