Egypt outlines new investment strategy and agricultural support measures
Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has reviewed two key initiatives aimed at economic stability and sector support. First, the government unveiled a foreign direct investment (FDI) strategy for 2027–2030. This strategy, developed in consultation with the private sector and international experts from the World Bank and IFC, seeks to enhance Egypt’s competitive investment environment through improved infrastructure, incentives, and increased private-sector participation. The plan focuses on industrial localization, technology transfer, and boosting export capacity.
In a separate meeting, Madbouly reviewed efforts to regulate the distribution of agricultural fertilizers to farmers. The government aims to ensure that subsidized fertilizers reach eligible recipients through agricultural cooperatives to boost crop productivity and food security. This initiative is part of a broader effort to expand cultivated areas, diversify strategic crops, and increase agricultural exports while strengthening oversight of the distribution system.
