Egypt pledges solidarity with Saudi Arabia after Houthi attacks

Egypt has declared its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia following Houthi attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones targeting several Saudi cities, including Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the strikes as a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability, asserting that the national security of both nations is “interconnected and inseparable.”

The attacks reportedly injured 13 civilians and caused damage to seven residential homes and two vehicles. These strikes occur amid significant shifts in the Yemeni battlefield. The Houthi group recently claimed control over several districts on the western coast and islands in the Red Sea, including the strategic Mayun Island in the Bab al-Mandab strait.

Simultaneously, Yemeni government forces reported advances in the border province of Al-Jawf and conducted airstrikes against Houthi positions in Mocha, Taiz, Lahj, and Al-Dhale. Government forces also claimed to have repelled a major Houthi assault on Marib.
