Egypt poultry and egg prices climb in early July 2026

On July 4‑5 2026 Egyptian poultry markets recorded modest price increases. The farm price of white chicken rose to 65 EGP per kilogram, up from 60 EGP the day before, while the consumer price reached about 73 EGP per kilogram. Mother‑chicken (layer) prices were 43 EGP at farm and 55 EGP for consumers. Sausage‑type chicken sold for 80 EGP at farm and 90 EGP to shoppers, and local (traditionally‑bred) chicken cost 100 EGP at farm and 120 EGP per kilogram to consumers. Breaded chicken (bâniya) prices fell sharply to 200‑220 EGP per kilogram from roughly 260 EGP previously.

Egg prices also edged up. A carton of red eggs was quoted at 93 EGP, white eggs at 83‑90 EGP, and local eggs at 94 EGP wholesale and about 110 EGP for consumers.
