Egypt prepares schools for nationwide high‑school exam marathon starting June 21
Egyptian education officials are completing final preparations for the 2025‑2026 high‑school (Thanaweya Amma) examinations, which begin on Sunday 21 June 2026 and will run until 16 July. Regional head Abu Hatab toured schools in Ashmun, urging staff to intensify cleaning, remove obstacles, and ensure adequate lighting, ventilation, medical services and backup power for exam halls. He appealed to students, saying “we are with you and will provide a calm, reassuring environment.”
Governors across the country, including those of the Eastern, Port Said and Menofia provinces, inspected exam venues, confirming readiness of committees, rest areas for invigilators, and security measures. In Port Said, officials introduced a new “cluster” system that groups exam committees to improve control and prevent misconduct. The coordinated effort involves education authorities, local police, health services and utilities to address any issues promptly throughout the exam period.
